Adwords Location Targeting – Advanced Setting

If you only want your ad to show to users in a particular position when you run AdWords ads, your targeting may not have been fully maintained.

Because when you target a location, you’re automatically targeting not only people in that location, but also people searching for that location. For example, a person who writes “ankara sports hall İstanbul in Istanbul will also be shown an advertisement targeted only to users in Ankara.

To get ahead of this, you must select the option you need using the advanced settings in the location options. The same applies to exclusion.

If you select the first option here (users at my destination, searching for, or interested in this location), your ad can show to anyone who is likely to be physically present at your destination. Your ad can also show to users who are interested in your target location. Users may be interested in terms they use in searches they perform, content they view on the Internet, whether they are recently found, or other means.

If the second option is left selected (users at my destination), your ad may show to any user who may be physically present at your destination, even if they are interested in other locations.

If the third option is checked (users looking for or interested in my destination), your ad can show to all users who are interested in your destination. Users may be interested in terms they use in searches they perform, content they view on the Internet, whether they are recently found, or other means.
