Tip 1: simulate a Home button

With its edge-to-edge screen, the iPhone X has no Home button. But, iOS offers us to activate one. And this, thanks to the famous AssistiveTouch. The AssistiveTouch button does not have the same shape it has on the previous iPhone.

It takes the form of a virtual Home button instead of an iOS app. Pressing hard on it will take you to the home screen. By pressing twice in succession, you enable multitasking.

By default, AssistiveTouch is disabled on the iPhone X, as on other iPhones. To activate Assistive Touch, go to Settings > General > Accessibility. Go down a little and you will see the option, activate it.

Tip 2: anchor the keyboard to the left or right

The handling is different from the previous iPhone. To use the keyboard on iPhone X with one hand, press strongly on the emoji icon, you will see the icons of the keyboards. You choose the position of your choice.

Tip 3: Look at the screen to keep it on

With the 3D sensors located in the notch of the iPhone X screen, the device is able to detect whether you are watching your iPhone or not. This is normal, it is precisely one of the roles of these sensors. On the previous iPhone, to keep the screen on if you read a text, you must touch it from time to time. It’s different from the iPhone X. As long as your eyes are fixed on the screen, it stays on. Useful!

Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Face ID and Attention and check the Attention Based Functions option to activate it.

Tip 4: Enable Easy Access

iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8 and 8 Plus users are probably familiar with Easy Access. It reaches the top of the screen by tapping the Home button twice in a row. iPhone X does not have a Home button, so how does it work? Simply drag down to the bar at the bottom of the screen that replaces the Home button.

The Easy Access option is not enabled on the iPhone X. To do this, Settings > General > Accessibility. Go down a little and you will see the option Easy access, you activate it.

Tip 5: Change application

To change the application, on iPhone prior to the iPhone 6s, we use multitasking with double press the Home button. On iPhone 6s and later, you can use the 3D Touch gesture by pressing hard on the left edge of the iPhone and sliding your finger to the right. But, on the iPhone X, we have a new gesture; swipe left or right on the bar at the bottom of the screen to switch applications.

Tip 6: Turn on multitasking

With iPhone X, you can enable multitasking by sliding up from the bar and stopping in the middle of the screen. Or you use the Home button offered by Touch.

Tip 7: Activate the Control Center

Drag up from the bottom of the screen to activate the Control Center is no longer on the iPhone X. Now you must slide down from the top right of the screen.

Tips 8: Activate the Notification Center

To activate the Notification Center, you must either slide from the top left or from the middle of the home screen. The top right is reserved for the Control Center.
