Step 1: To get started, the first thing you need to do is open the Google Chrome browser on your Android phone. After that, tap the “Dotted” icon in the top right corner and then activate the “Desktop Site / Desktop Site” option.
Step 2: As soon as you do the above steps, all websites that you search on Google Chrome will open in the desktop view. Now, open YouTube in a browser and the desktop Youtube version will be seen.
Step 3: After that, play the video you want on YouTube and then minimize your Chrome browser. Now, you will see the video still running in the background and you can listen to it. You will also see a “Speaker” icon in the notification tray that you can expand to play or pause the video.
Mozilla Firefox for Android also comes with a native option that can help you play YouTube videos in the android background. This one will also allow you to use other applications simultaneously. To do this, you can follow the steps below.
Step 1: After installing Mozilla Firefox on your Android phone, just open and click the “Dotted” icon that appears at the top. Then from the menu, you need to activate the “Request Desktop Site” option.
Step 2: After you have done the above steps, you will see all the websites in desktop mode in Firefox. Now, open YouTube and then you will see a typical YouTube web interface, as shown below.
Step 3: Now, you can go ahead and choose the video you want to play in the background. After that, minimize the Firefox browser and then you will see the video playing in the background. You can play or pause the video using the options displayed in the notification tray.
