How to Fix Touchpad Does Not Work in Windows 10
Method 1: Restart your PC
This may sound silly, but many of the Windows problems go away after a restart. So restart your Windows 10 PC once and check if the touchpad works.
If you’re wondering how to restart a notebook with the touchpad disabled, press the Windows logo and X keys at the same time to open the main user menu, press the U key on the keyboard, and then press the R- Button to restart.
Method 2: Check the touchpad settings and activate the hotkey
Some laptops have a special hotkey on the keyboard to turn the touchpad on or off. Make sure that the touchpad is not switched off with the hotkey.

Did you know that most touchpad drivers offer an option to disable or disable the touchpad? For example, for my Synaptics touchpad on the ThinkPad T450s, there is an option under Mouse Properties to deactivate the touchpad and the TrackPoint.
You can open the mouse properties by typing Main.cpl in the Start menu search field and pressing Enter. For some notebooks or touchpads, the option to turn the touchpad on and off may be located under the touchpad control panel (e.g. Synaptics control panel).

Method 3: Make sure the touchpad driver is installed
Some touchpads work instantly without the need for additional drivers. However, if the touchpad or touchpad gestures don’t work, make sure that the latest version of the touchpad driver is installed in your Windows 10 notebook.
To do this, first check the current version of the driver installed on your Windows 10 PC and then visit the manufacturer’s website to check the version number.

If the touchpad does not work and you are sure that the latest version of the driver is installed (information on checking the driver version), reinstall the driver.

Method 5: Roll the driver back
Many users often experience problems after upgrading to a newer version of the touchpad driver. If you recently updated the driver to the latest version (or the drive is automatically updated by Windows 10) and the touchpad has stopped working or has since stopped working, you can revert to the previous version of the driver.
