The feature for leaving a WhatsApp group secretly allows users to leave a group without leaving a trace of notifications. Previously, group members could see a notification in the chat room that read “(contact number/name) out (left)”.
Now, this notification will no longer appear, so users can leave the group without other members knowing.
Steps to Leave a WhatsApp Group Secretly
The following are the steps to use the feature to leave a WhatsApp group secretly:
- Update WhatsApp to the latest version
- Open the WhatsApp application, then open the targeted group chat room
- Click the three-dot icon in the top right corner of the screen
- Click the “More/Other” option > “Exit group/Leave the group”
- Confirm with the appropriate button
After carrying out the steps above, the user will leave the WhatsApp group without other members knowing. However, it should be noted that this feature can still be known by group admins.
Because WhatsApp group admins still receive notifications if another member “leave group” or leaves the WhatsApp group.
