Clear Facebook Search History: Search logs can tell a lot about you. This applies in particular to the Facebook search log. If you don’t want this type of data to be leftover, you can delete it.
How to Clear Facebook Search History
How you get to your search history depends a bit on whether you are using the iOS or Android mobile apps or the web interface.
On iOS
- Click on the three horizontal lines and go to Settings> Activity Log.
- Tap the “Category” drop-down menu and select the “Search History” entry.
- All of your recent searches are shown here.
On Android
- Tap the three horizontal lines, scroll down to Help and Settings, and then select the Activity Log entry.
- Tap the Filter setting, then tap the Search History option.
- Now you can see all of your recent searches.
On the Facebook website
- Go to your Facebook profile and tap the “View Activity Log” button.
- Then click on the “Search History” setting.
- These are all of the searches you have made on Facebook.
How to clear your entire Facebook search history
- To clear all search history, tap or click the Clear Search option in your activity log. This is pretty much the same no matter what platform you use.
- And so your entire search history on Facebook will disappear.
How to remove a single item in your Facebook search history
You can also remove individual items from your Facebook history if you don’t want to delete the whole thing. How you do this depends on whether you are using the iOS or Android apps or the web interface.
On iOS and Android
- To remove a single item from your search history on iOS or Android, tap the X next to the search you want to delete.
- This will remove the item from your search history.
On the Facebook website
- To remove one thing from your search history on the web, click the “Edit” button.
- Then click the “Delete” button.
