Capture live photos during FaceTime video calls is incredibly simple. First of all, you will need to open Settings and check in the “FaceTime” tab if the switch called “FaceTime Live Photo” is active. If the switch is off, it will be sufficient to activate it.
Once this is done, you will need to start or receive a FaceTime video call, having to respond as usual. Once the FaceTime video chat is active, all you have to do is locate the camera shutter button: it is the white dot, present on the screen above the video.
Just touch it to take a Live Photos. A pop-up will appear on the screen informing the user of the acquisition of the live photo, and will disappear a few moments later.
It is possible to continue pressing the shutter button to capture other live images, which of course can be reviewed in the camera roll, just like any other Live Photo taken outside of FaceTime.
At this point, from the roll, it will be possible to look at the photos and use all the various effects, such as loops, long exposures, and bounce. You can also share photos taken live on FaceTime with friends, as usual, or even send them animated GIFs from the photo.
