Windows 10 has an application called Camera that lets you use your webcam to record videos and take pictures. This is definitely better than having to download spyware / malware recorded by third parties to record webcams.

One of the problems with the new sleek interface in Windows 10 applications is that it is sometimes too simple and clean. They have literally removed the buttons and other visuals you might otherwise expect. For example, in addition to the picture and video buttons, there are literally three more buttons.

Using Windows 10 Camera App
Before we get to that, let’s look at the basics. First, open the application and if you still don’t have a webcam or computer connected to your computer, you’ll see a plain black screen that saysWe can’t find your camera.
After connecting the camera, it will ask you for permission to use the webcam in the Camera app.
Once you’ve done that, you should be able to see your webcam in a full-screen window with a few buttons on the top and side:
Note that if the webcam does not work with the Windows 10 camera app, this probably means that Windows 10 does not recognize the webcam. This is probably due to the fact that the driver is not compatible with Windows 10.
You will need to go to the manufacturer’s website and see if there is a driver version for Windows 10. If not, you will just have to wait until it is released.
Now is the fun part! How to take a photo or video using the Widget 10 Camera app? Just click or touch the camera icon to take a photo and click or touch the camcorder icon to start a video.
By default, it will take a photo or video and save it to theCamera Rollin the folder in thePhotosfolder. When you click on it, it will make a sound that will break and then the image will slide from the screen to the bottom right icon.
Keep in mind that you’ll have a third icon on your tablet device that lets you take a panoramic photo. You may also need to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the application bar, which will allow you to change the camera (if there is more than one), set the time, change the exposure, etc.
To make a video, you need to clickVideo modeto turn white and click the button again.
The timer will start at the bottom of the screen and all you have to do is click the button again to stop recording.
If you click the small icon at the top right, you can adjust the settings. The first option is what happens when you press and hold the camera button. By default, it just takes one photo. You can change it toPhoto BurstorVideo.
Then, based on the camera, you can select the resolution that needs to be captured. You can then add a framing frame as a camera overlay. The choice isRule of Third,Gold Ratio,CrosshairsandSquare, This is useful if you are using the camera app on your tablet device like Surface Pro.
Then, if you set the timer in the camera application, which explains below, you can automatically take time for the camera application. So if you set the timer every 5 seconds, it will continue shooting until you press the camera button again.
For videos, you can choose a recording quality that will again depend on the camera connected to your computer or built-in to your device. To reduce jitter while recording videos, select the highest refresh rate. Also, if you have a tablet, be sure to turn it on withDigital Video Stabilizerwhen making videos.

Back in the main screen, click on the small clock to set the timer. This will only appear when in picture mode. The intervals you can choose are off, 2 seconds, 5 seconds, and 10 seconds.
Click the arrow to expand the list and you will see another icon that allows you to adjust the brightness. A semicircle appears, and you can simply click and drag along the circle to make adjustments.
After taking a photo or video, click the icon in the lower right corner to display the Photos app for viewing. Also, both photos and videos are stored in theCamera Rollfolder underPhotos.
