How To Disable The Tumblr Safe Mode

Tumblr Safe Mode: Tumblr is a great place to get your daily fix of fantastic GIFs and memes. However, the amount of NSFW content on that site has increased dramatically in recent years, so it’s not surprising to see some blogs, for example for adults, limited with a warning in safe mode.

Unless you’re over 18, there is practically no reason why you should activate Safe Mode, so let’s see how we can disable it. But what if you don’t have an account, nor are you going to create one? Do not worry. We will talk about a way to get around that too.

Disable the Tumblr Safe Mode

By default, Safe Mode is enabled on Tumblr for all users regardless of age, so logging into your Tumblr account isn’t enough. You need to disable it manually.

Note:If you are under the age of 18, Tumblr offers no way to disable Safe Mode. And really, you shouldn’t. For the moment, continue with the nice pictures of animals and come back when you are 18 years old.

Step 1: Log in to your Tumblr account, click on the Account icon, then select Settings.

Step 2:In the Filter section, tap the switch next to Safe Mode to turn it off.

That’s all! You should now be able to search for and access blogs or posts previously marked as “unsafe for work”.

However, remember that once you log out, you lose access to NSFW content, so be sure to log in whenever you want to regain access. Of course, your previous preferences are saved and there is no need to disable Safe Mode again.

Do it on your cellphone

If you use the Tumblr mobile app, things are a little different when it comes to turning off Safe Mode.

iPhone and iPad

On iOS, you cannot disable Safe Mode via the Tumblr app, but rather from the iOS Settings app.

Step 1:Open the Settings app from the Home screen, scroll down, then tap Tumblr.

Step 2: InTumblr Settings, tap on Safe Mode.

Step 3:Tap Don’t Hide Anything to disable Safe Mode.

You should be able to access all NSFW content after reopening the Tumblr app.

Android devices

Unlike iOS, the Tumblr app for Android allows you to disable Safe Mode directly from the app.

Step 1:Open the Tumblr app, touch the Account icon, then touch the Gear Settings icon.

Step 2:Tap General Settings, then tap Filter.

Step 3: Click on the switch next to Safe Mode to turn it off.

Now you can start viewing NSFW content immediately.

Note: The Safe Mode setting doesn’t sync on all devices, so you need to turn it off separately on desktop, iOS and Android.

Without account

You hate Tumblr, but you just have to log into a Tumblr blog to check something. And of course, it’s stuck.

If it sounds like you, there’s really no reason to waste time creating a Tumblr account just to disable Safe Mode. There are some websites that allow you to access Tumblr by bypassing the restriction directly. Let’s take a look at some of them.

GramUnion

GramUnion allows you to instantly access any Tumblr blog – limited or unlimited – simply by entering its name. In fact, it’s also a lot nicer than Tumblr itself due to the fact that you can filter posts by media type – image, video, audio, etc. You can also insert hashtags to easily view related posts and blogs.

TumblViewr

TumblViewr has a minimalist design, but don’t be fooled. Just type in the name of any blog and immediately start uploading photos and GIFs in miniature format, making it an insanely useful way to quickly scan thousands of posts. You can also click on a thumbnail to access a full-resolution version of the related image.

Tumbex

Another useful website that allows you to access confidential content in the blink of an eye, Tumbex also allows you to search for posts individually.

Plus, the fact that it displays images in a customizable grid format makes navigating complex Tumblr blogs a breeze. You can also determine the quality (SD, HD and MD) loaded from the images to manage the bandwidth.

Unlike the other two sites we talked about, you can also sign in using your Facebook or Google accounts and blogs and bookmark posts for later viewing. Pretty useful, right?

Thus you can disable tumblr safe mode. If you feel any help, comment in the comment box.
