Have you ever played a song from Apple Music or Spotify on your iPhone and started recording a video with the“Camera” app? If the answer is yes, you have surely noticed that in these cases, the playing song is immediately stopped.
This happens to prevent someone from using this trick to record songs protected by theDRMrights of these (and all other) music services. However, there is a way around this block and today we are going to see how to exploit it.
Steps to record a video with music on iPhone
Before starting with the procedure, we would like to clarify that the iPhone used must necessarily be updated to at least iOS 13, otherwise the options we will see will not be available.
In any case, we always recommend that you keep your smartphone updated to the latest version available. Having said that, let’s see how to do it right away.
- Play your favorite song using any application or service (Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music or others)
- Start the“Camera”application and stay in the“Photos”section (avoid accessing the “video” section, otherwise the song will stop even before starting the recording).
- Press and hold the shutter button for a while until a movie recording starts
- When you have finished recording, remove your finger from the screen
If, on the other hand, you want to make a longer recording and without holding down the shutter button, simplylock the recording by swiping your finger towards the lock icon on the right after holding down the central button.
By taking advantage of this recording option, your music will remain available for recording. However, it must be considered that the audio will still be recorded with the iPhone microphone, therefore, the quality will certainly not be excellent and may be affected by other external noises.
